About Green Shopping
The contents of this site is put together by the Permaculture Magazine team and has been running as a mail order catalogue since the early 1990s. We choose books that we have personally found useful or inspirational or that have been recommended to us by our colleagues and readers. Many of them have been reviewed in depth in Permaculture Magazine. All of our tools and products are also personally tested either by us or by our affiliated experts. In short no book is unread, no tool left in the box, no kit is unmade and no product unused. We believe that this level of attention is essential to ensure quality of selection – but we admit – we enjoy our work! It is fun finding you practical, enlightening books, useful, robust specialist tools and great gifts to give and receive. We also welcome your feedback, ideas and contacts for new ‘stuff’.
With our selection, we stick to some basic but essential criteria. We are foremost a green shopping catalogue run by green people. We only want to sell genuinely practical useful or educational materials. Our products are ideally made in the UK by small companies from ethically sourced materials. If we import it is because the product cannot be sourced ‘locally’. We don’t sell greenwash ‘toys’ or goods from sweatshops. We welcome customer feedback and recommendations and we are always at the end of an email or a phone during office hours to offer a friendly and reliable service.
We appreciate that our customers enjoy their privacy so we never pass on any customer details to any third party for advertising or any other purpose. Your transaction is safe with us and you won’t get inundated with junk mail after your order either.
We also run a shop at the Sustainability Centre and welcome weekday visitors (see below). If you want to inspect (with no obligation to buy) specific items, please call 01730 823 311, or email email@example.com first to ensure we have it in stock.
We appreciate your custom. Any profits generated by Green Shopping are reinvested in our publishing projects; these include Permaculture Magazine and our Permanent Publications books. Each one of them has been designed to provide information for living a lower impact, more abundant life.
Thank you for shopping with us.
