Details
Backyard Composting follows basic values, such as putting things where they belong and not making a mess. Composting at home reduces your personal volume of rubbish, conserves water, increases plant growth, replaces the need for toxic chemical fertilizers and pesticides, and is also fun.

I brought this book many years ago when I trained to be a Master Composter in the States. Its a great book with all the information you could possible need to get you started on the road to composting. Its easy to read and follow and exceptionally well priced. Glad to see its available on this site. If you are going to buy just one composting books I would definitely suggest this one. This little book starts with the reassuring statement 'Compost Happens', and goes on to tell you how you can get it happening in your own garden. There are lots of ways to do it, and the book helps you choose the one that suits you best by explaining in simple terms how it works. There's also a look at compost in the wider context of sustainability. The only subject that is rather skimmed over is worm composting. (Posted on 08/07/2010)Review
