- In a word, this book is tasty! Review by Jonathan Dawson, review in Permaculture magazine

The Guide and Cookbook is a glorious pot pourri of practical wisdom on how to surf the energy descent wave that is about to break over us. Chapters on water, waste, energy, food production and storage, transport and lifestyles are sandwiched between an introductory chapter setting the scene on Peak Oil and a closing chapter, 'Utopia by Morning', on the importance of rebuilding our communities as bastions against the challenges and threats that lie ahead. There is something deliciously Victorian about the Guide - like a compendium of good housekeeping techniques geared for an age in which the global supply lines have broken down. In a word, this book is tasty! Try a sample and see. (Posted on 07/07/2010)Review
