Kourik’s colour photos and Massion’s art effectively illustrate a text that fulfils the title’s promise. The author’s advice is sound and practical. (Posted on 05/11/2012) - an excellent manual for designing and maintaining a garden Review by Review by Meghan Shinn on www.hortmag.com
-
It’s an excellent manual for designing and maintaining a garden that incorporates both ornamental and edible trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants. At 400 pages, this book covers every issue that may arise in your garden! Kourik offers only organic methods—a must when you’re planting edible plants shoulder-to-shoulder with, for instance, roses—and he dispels many myths, too. The book includes a foreword by Rosalind Creasy, well known for her own edible/ornamental garden. Designing And Maintaining Your Edible Landscape Naturally by Robert Kourik is my all time favorite gardening book. Even if you don't have an edible landscape it contains a wealth of information, for landscapes, orchards, and vegetable gardens. Instead of focusing on one particular gardening style, he covers many different schools of thought and practices. Check this one out, I am sure you will enjoy it.
