- I highly recommend it. It is brilliant. Review by Maddy Harland, editor Permaculture magazine
-
Pooran Desai and Sue Riddlestone founded the Bioregional Development Group in the early nineties. They took permaculture design principles an applied them to environmental problems within the market economy. They took the principles of supplying a needed product locally to a high ecological standard and applied it to wood, paper, textiles, food and housing (the renowned BedZed project). In the process they commissioned new data, created new technologies and products, new partnerships, and won over many friends not just in the environmental movement but also within mainstream business.Review
This little book documents their projects, and it is dynamite. It also describes ecological footprinting clearly and concisely. I am not given to having 'work' books as bedtime reading but I was so inspired and fascinated by Bioregional Solutions that I read this one in bed and my dreams of a better world came closer to reality. I highly recommend it. It is brilliant. (Posted on 30/07/2010)
