- This is the best general book about ecovilages to date Review by Maddy Harland, editor Permaculture magazine
-
This is the best general book about ecovilages to date, a veritable tardis of information deftly packaged in five succinct chapters. Jonathan charts the movement's history from the earliest Celtic communities to the diverse examples of today's ecovillages in both South and North. If we are to take planned energy descent and the impacts of climate change seriously, low impact community developments are an essential strategy in designing more sustainable societies. Rob Hopkins writes of our potential to create an abundant future and Jonathan ably demonstrates that many key ingredients to this abundance are already in place in the world's ecovillages.
