The pictures prove that areas featuring vegetables, herbs, fruit- and nut-bearing trees and other edibles can be beautiful. From cover crops to choosing apple tree varieties it’s packed full of information. Excellent advice on pruning. This book is a must for anyone who has every wanted to grow an edible garden. Appendixes are voluminous and cover some unusual aids (e.g., estimating amounts of materials needed for landscaping projects) (Posted on 05/11/2012)

Robert Kourik’s flawlessly researched and referenced book is based on his years as a landscape architect, tempting clients to include edible plants in their ornamental gardens. (Posted on 05/11/2012)
This is a valuable guide to the holistic approach to gardening Review by Review on publishersweekly.com
Review
Kourik’s colour photos and Massion’s art effectively illustrate a text that fulfils the title’s promise. The author’s advice is sound and practical. This is a valuable guide to the holistic approach to gardening, which relies on natural fertilizers and avoids chemicals. Kourik, who frequently appears on TV and lectures nationally, includes recipes that use the wide variety of foods featured.

an excellent manual for designing and maintaining a garden Review by Review by Meghan Shinn on www.hortmag.com
Review
It’s an excellent manual for designing and maintaining a garden that incorporates both ornamental and edible trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants. At 400 pages, this book covers every issue that may arise in your garden! Kourik offers only organic methods—a must when you’re planting edible plants shoulder-to-shoulder with, for instance, roses—and he dispels many myths, too. The book includes a foreword by Rosalind Creasy, well known for her own edible/ornamental garden. (Posted on 05/11/2012)

Review
Designing And Maintaining Your Edible Landscape Naturally by Robert Kourik is my all time favorite gardening book. Even if you don't have an edible landscape it contains a wealth of information, for landscapes, orchards, and vegetable gardens. Instead of focusing on one particular gardening style, he covers many different schools of thought and practices. Check this one out, I am sure you will enjoy it. (Posted on 01/07/2010)
