This book focuses on the design and development of natural food chains as a solution to the problems associated with fish farming and offers a design framework for successful ecological aquaculture in all but the most extreme climates. While primarily aimed at people with a freshwater resource, this is also a work of ground breaking ides and practices for anyone interested in advances in environmental management and aquatic ecosystem enhancement.

This book fills a longstanding gap in knowledge about the application of ecological principles to aquaculture. At a time when ecological production management systems are becoming more attractive to consumers, such as organic farming, Mr. Hutchinson shows how it can happen for aquaculture, too.Review

This book is a unique insight into the ecological design of all freshwater systems whether for aquaculture or pure pleasure. Using this book will enable anyone to design a self-supporting ecosystem in a pond or freshwater stream. If your designs require the use of water then I would recommend this book.
