Even if you only have a passing interest in green woodworking and coppice crafts, the chances are you will have read Mike Abbott's splendid 1989 classic Green Woodwork. But whether you have or not, his latest offering, Living Wood, is a wonderful tome on the subject. Highly readable, the book falls into two distinct sections. The first details his personal life and how he manages to earn a living from green woodworking and teaching his skills, whilst the second half deals in great detail with his improved woodworking devices and projects. The bulk of the book covers improvements to tools, shelters, and methods of working which he has developed over the years. All of these are well described, wonderfully illustrated and supplied with full dimensional details. This book is beautifully produced. A must for anyone interested in green woodworking at any level.
