- Bon-Fire saves Easter Review by John Adams - Permaculture Magazine

Having gone to Devon with my family, only to find that the AGA we had intended to use had failed, the Bon-Fire outdoor kitchen was pressed into full time service. I managed to very successfully cook a range of meals for nine people on it for several days. Highlights were roast beef, jacket potatoes and veg - I had once done a leg of lamb before but that was using a dome from another bbq - this time I improvised and turned the stew pot upside down to make an oven (see pic5). My son made a delicious version of Jamie Oliver's cowboy chilli (see pic6), and with a kettle on the embers we had plenty of hot water. Never leave home without one! I was pleased to discover the Bon-fire range of tripods and cooking pots, designed by two Danish chefs and beautifully manufactured, it can cook for a dozen or more. You can cook in a hanging stew pot while using a BBQ grill or BBQ pan below. John really liked the pan and the fact that you can boil potatoes or vegetables while you are grilling below. Bon-fire also comes with a 2.2 litre coffee/tea pot which makes a handy kettle for washing up too. Bon-fire has designed the system so that if you can’t have an open fire, you can add a fire tray. This is ideal for small gardens, patios and also for campsites.Review
