Details
Written by an expert with more than twenty years' experience as an organic gardener, the book balances science and philosophy, information and humour to show that considerations of human waste are essential to any discussion of sustainability. This book tells all you'll ever need to know about how you can save the precious by-products of the food you eat. Joe shows organic gardeners how humanure can be completely recycled - safely and simply while saving lots of: 1. water, 2. time, 3. money spent on commercial fertiliser and/or 4. sweat lugging so much animal manure from far away places to our gardens.

- It is probably the most powerful book ever written on the subject, bar none. Recommended for all. Review by Michael Guerra, review in Permaculture magazine

Written with a great deal of passion and extremely inspirational, the writer has been using a simple sawdust composting system for over 20 years. This book is the definitive guide to elegant, spiritual simplicity of thermophillic composting of this particular human resource. Most compost toilets are mesophillic in nature; that is they moulder without reaching the higher temperatures for killing pathogens or roundworm quickly.Review
This book is for everyone who needs convincing of composting toilet systems (individuals and officialdom alike), and while there is not the great overview of the available commercial systems, his argument and system are incredibly inspirational and easy to understand. It is probably the most powerful book ever written on the subject, bar none. Recommended for all. (Posted on 30/07/2010)
