The Lonus 3 garden shredder works like a professional chipping machine. It crushes and chops material between a very strong toothed cog and a roller. It can process green wood branches up to a maximum diameter of around 45mm (1.75in). It is hard to jam, but if you do there is a reverse switch. Best of all it’s really quiet, only 82dB. The Lonus 3 certainly isn’t the cheapest shredder on the market but what you get for your money is a really well built machine which produces high quality chippings for composting, and does it quickly and quietly.
